Touring Superleggera is proud to announce the launch of the Veloce12, a Grand Tourer that defines that phrase through a mixture of elegance and performance that has become synonymous with Touring.
The Veloce12 is meticulously crafted to offer an unparalleled driving experience, balancing luxury and everyday usability with the uncompromising craftsmanship and engineering ethos that Touring Superleggera is renowned for. Each of the 30 units available will take 5000 hours to craft, with production commencing in Q1 2025. Each one embraces the essence of driving in its purest form, offering up a refreshingly analogue experience – unfiltered, uncompromised and unforgettable.
The Veloce12 draws inspiration from the golden age of mid-20th century Italian coachbuilding, yet also embraces the cutting edge of contemporary design and technical innovation, with flowing lines, sleek surfaces and sweeping, gracefully defined curves. It is a pure distillation of what Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera represents.
Crafted with lightweight materials and precision engineering, the Veloce12’s body is hand-crafted from carbon fiber. All connections between chassis and bodywork are meticulously drafted using CAD to ensure flawless build quality and eliminate any potential vibrations. Essential load-bearing components undergo rigorous FEM modal analysis, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies meticulously optimize airflow.
At the heart of the Superleggera Veloce12 lies a naturally aspirated 65°, 5474cc F133 V12 engine that delivers 503hp (25hp more than the donor car) and 419lb ft of torque, sonically liberated courtesy of our partners at Supersprint Exhausts. Through our partnership with Supersprint, plus the 30 per cent enhanced cooling system via PWR, the engine is unleashed to deliver the kind of symphonic sound only twelve naturally aspirated cylinders can provide. The Veloce12 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 320km/h (199 mph).
Each donor engine will be treated to an endoscopic and physical inspection, before being disassembled and rebuilt to as-new condition, with the connecting rod screws, bearings bench, gaskets, timing belt, spark plugs, injectors, oil pump, oil filters and sensors among many other refinements. The alternator and starter motors will also be overhauled.
For unparalleled stopping power and precision, the Touring Superleggera features a high-performance braking system developed by Brembo that improves pedal feel and, along with bespoke wheels designed by Touring Superleggera, reduces unsprung mass. Six- pot calipers on 380mm discs are fitted at the front, with four-pot calipers fitted on the 380mm rear discs.
Today’s enthusiast demands optimum ride and handling wherever they are, whether cruising around town, powering through long journeys on high-speed roads or attacking a twisty mountain pass. We have teamed up with TracTive for a bespoke suspension system with adjustable damping, allowing you to tailor your Veloce12’s handling and ride balance to your precise needs, wherever you are. TracTive’s system uses a patented dynamic damping adjustment valve, controlled by a multi-axes g-sensor and advanced algorithms developed from decades of racing and road testing.
The Veloce12 chassis has been reinforced to significantly increase torsional stiffness, enhancing rigidity and stability, thus improving handling and precision. Touring selected the 550 due to its great DNA and aims to emulate the improvements seen in its successors. For instance, the 599, which effectively replaced the 550, saw an increase in rigidity of 38 percent, with the F12 improving this by a further 20 percent. Touring seeks to achieve similar enhancements with localized stiffening in the door apertures using additional TIG-welded metalwork for extra strength. These changes are weight neutral, maintaining the car’s agility.
In the Veloce12 you immerse yourself in a sanctuary where luxury meets performance, where the Italian craftsmanship is meticulously curated to blend opulence with Pure Italianità. The very best materials, handcrafted leather upholstery and exquisite detailing adorn every surface, while ergonomically sculpted seats provide optimal support during spirited drives. Every detail, from the precision-machined controls to the bespoke finishes, seamlessly integrates analogue engagement with modern touches to provide the ultimate grand touring experience. While custom-made cars offer the freedom to explore new design and functionality frontiers unrestricted by mass production limitations, even bespoke vehicles must adhere to the rigorous standards of quality, safety, and usability expected by today’s discerning enthusiasts. This is why Touring Superleggera meticulously designs and tests components, accessories and systems using advanced engineering techniques.
As such, Touring Superleggera takes immense pride in its reputation as a design center and manufacturer known for executing the complete lifecycle of creating an exclusive car—from manual design and surface engineering to structural calculations, styling models and prototypes, and finally, small-scale production.
Touring has been based in Milan for nearly 100 years, where we design, develop and test all our products at our headquarters. Our production facilities are located in Rivalta and Bruino, near Turin. The Veloce12 is a celebration of our storied past, a showcase of our present capabilities, and a glimpse into the future of grand touring excellence.”
